DESCRIPTION:
This package provides the Ethernet firmware and driver for Broadcom BCM5761
device use on supported models running a supported operating system. This
package supports both 64-bit and 32-bit Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- This softpaq doesn?t include the driver, which is already packaged separately.
- Removed SSM compliance ? not needed as it may interfere with the network while
SSM is running
- Added user documentation per our conversation of documentation needed back in
December

FIXES:
- Fixes an issue in the Application Processing Engine (DASH) firmware that can
result in intermittent loss of network connectivity.
- Updates supporting firmware to most recent versions.

PREREQUISITES:
- If using the Broadcom Application Processing Engine (DASH), installation of
the Broadcom Management Agent is required. The agent can be installed
optionally by running the setup utility that comes with the driver.
- If DASH Management is not required, please disable it. See Readme1st.txt file
in this softpaq for additional details.
- HP recommended using this firmware with Broadcom NIC driver v16.2.0.4 sp65238
[32Bit] or sp652340 [64Bit]) or newer.

HOW TO USE:
NOTE: To install the software in this SoftPaq, you must be logged in with
Administrator privileges.

1. Download the file by clicking the "Download" or "Obtain Software" button and
saving the file to a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where
the downloaded file is saved).

2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to
unpack the files to C:\SWSETUP\SP65881 or another directory of your choice.

3. Access the Windows Command Prompt (cmd.exe) with elevated Administrator
rights

4. Change to the directory where the files were extracted. (c:\swsetup\sp65881)

5. Run the WinUpdt.cmd batch file from the directory that contains the unpacked
softpaq files.

** After double-clicking the downloaded file, please select "This program
installed correctly" on the "Program Compatibility Assistant" screen. This
message is sent out by the protection mechanism of Microsoft Windows Operation
System.
