3. What's New

3.1. New Features ( and changes ) 

In this release:
The initial file system size has been increased to 4 GB.  Upon installation, the file system should resize to fill up the entire disk.
The Linux kernel and all kernel modules are now signed by HP.  The secure boot chain of trust now includes the boot loader, kernel and all kernel modules.
    Customers will not be able to install their own custom kernel modules without disabling secure boot.
Updated the software to fix security vulnerabilities.
Added initial capsule update support.
Modified the system so components (such as Citrix) can be reinstalled after having been deleted.
Added H.265 decode support for units shipping with ThinPro 7.2.  Units upgraded to ThinPro 7.2 in the field will not support H.265 decode.

GRUB FIX (boothole) -- This release fixes the boothole vulnerability, CVE-2020-10713.
    The signing key used to sign older boot loaders will be revoked by the BIOS on HP thin client devices.  This means that older images contaning the vulnerable boot loader will no longer boot after installing this image.

We have updated the Citrix Receiver, VMWare View, HP FreeRDP, and Firefox clients:

4. Image Installation Instructions 
============================================================================== 
  
Use HP ThinUpdate to format a USB flash drive and add the device image to the drive. Then insert the drive into the thin client and boot the device. The device will boot into imaging mode and automatically reimage the device. See the HP Smart Client Administrator's Guide for information on installing or upgrading to ThinPro / Smart Zero Core 7.2 using HP Device Manager or Automatic Update. 

The recommended upgrade path is from 7.1 to 7.2.


5. Known Issues

VMware Horizon View does not support MMR.
